Explore the Hololive-EN Minecraft World?

If you like Minecraft and Hololive-EN you've probably wanted to explore their server on your own at some point. However, for us mere mortals that just isn't going to happen. Not with the original server, that is. But what about a replica of their world?

Minecraft has a feature that allows spawning worlds from seeds, and using the same seed with the same Minecraft version basically produces the same world. After installing Minecraft Java Edition v1.16.3 (their starting version) and launching a new world from the Hololive-EN seed (you can find it by searching the web for "hololive minecraft seed") I got indeed spawned in the starting area indicated in this fan-made map. Walking north and east got me to the HQ area. Without any of their buildings, of course. So I went ahead and fixed that.

Map of the HQ area The "temporary" iron farm Nether portal and Ina's house Watson's tennis rack... er, I mean magnifying glass Inside Kiara's house Inside Gura's house Inside Amelia's house Tunnel entrance at HQ and Calli's house Inside the tunnel On the Holo Railway Tunnel entrance at PPP On the PPP platform

Obviously I could not build all of the things that multiple players created over the course of more than a year on the original server (nor did I want to), but I did re-create their tunnel, the Holo Railway, the 1st gen original houses and some other structures, like the "temporary" iron farm, Kiara's chicken coop and the Great Wall of Phoenixton. After finishing the structures I also upgraded the world to version 1.17.1 (the stable Minecraft release at the time).

Note that even though the structures I built should be fairly accurate in general, I did take some creative liberties here and there. For example, instead of fully re-creating PPP I chose a much simpler design for the actual XP farm tower. And I had to spawn in bamboo via creative mode, because I could not for the life of me figure out where Ina found it (I skimmed an area of roughly 3000 blocks in either direction of HQ and did not find a single jungle biome).

Anyway, if you want to take a ride on the Holo Railway, go fishing at PPP, explore Watson's Shaft or jump down Kiara's Hole of Death: you can do so now.

Install Minecraft Java Edition v1.17.1 or newer if you haven't already and download the world archive linked below. Go to your Minecraft saves folder (on Windows the default location is %APPDATA%\.minecraft\saves) and create a new subfolder Hololive-EN (or whichever name you like), then extract the archive into that folder. The next time you start Minecraft you should see a new entry "Hololive-EN" in your world list. Enjoy.

Side note: Apparently you can also convert Java Edition backups to Bedrock Edition, but the process looks rather tedious, so I couldn't be bothered. If someone wants to give it a try: let me know how it went.
